Jelly is a lot like her mum (Lolli). She is not an overtly playful dog like Chicca but is more serious about her work. She excels at bite games with the junior sleeve and is very full on. Once she has a hold of the sleeve or bite developer she doesn’t let go unless you make her.! She is also very quick (quicker than me and I have the bruises to prove it).!
Thankfully we now have the help of a friend to work on her bite training, so my arms wont be copping many more bruises.! We have been trying to sneak in a few training sessions as often as we can when I’m not working nights, and she is coming along nicely.
We would like to put Jelly through her security training to work as a security guard dog and are currently looking for a suitable training group to use. We feel she would do very well at this and are also considering doing some sort of detection training with her in the future. She has such a strong drive to work. Unfortunately this search is not proving to be very fruitful, and we are still looking.
Jelly is not as sociable with other dogs due to being attacked by another dog previously. She gets on well with our pack, and generally ignores other dogs, but does not tolerate strange dogs coming up to me when we are out in public. She loves people though and can be quite boisterous when making new friends.!
At this point we are not planning any litters from Jelly in until some time in 2012 as we would prefer to concentrate on her training. We will be breeding her in the future though as we love her temperament and drives.!
